Our Grants Process

Since 2009 Impact 100 Richmond has awarded more than $1.6 million to 21 local nonprofits, targeting high-impact projects aimed at improving the lives of local families. In 2018 we launched our place-based Neighborhood Catalyst Grant, a $25,000 annual investment for four years, in one Richmond neighborhood selected by the membership. We partner with the Community Foundation for a greater Richmond to facilitate the grant process.

We fund nonprofit projects that:

  • Foster change and have a long-term positive impact
  • Are programmatic and/or capital (i.e. building) in nature
  • Are new programs or expansions/improvements of existing programs that can change the way an organization or a community operates
  • Can demonstrate specific measurable goals

We award transformational grants in these five focus areas:

Arts and Culture: Projects that develop and enrich the community and/or the lives of children and families through the expressive arts or enhanced cultural opportunities.

Education: Projects that further the educational process or improve access to education for children and/or adults.

Environment & Sustainability: Projects that restore, preserve, revitalize or enhance physical or natural surroundings, including indoor and outdoor recreational facilities and other buildings or structures.

Family: Projects that strengthen and enhance the lives of children and families

Health & Wellness: Projects that improve the mental and/or physical well-being of people.

Our 2020-21 Fundraising Goal is $225,000:
Four $50,000 Unrestricted Operational Grants & $25,000 for Greater Fulton

In response to the challenges Richmond's local nonprofits are facing and to better serve our community, the Leadership Committee has decided to modify our grants process this year from strictly transformational grants to unrestricted operational grants. Our goal is to award four $50,000 unrestricted grants in addition to another $25,000 Neighborhood Catalyst Grant to Greater Fulton. Join today so we can reach our goal.
